이상과 윤동주는 비슷한 시대에 살았는데도 불구하고 문체적인 차이점이 몇 가지가 있었다. 두 시인이 쓴 시를 비교하면 유사점과 차이점을 어느 정도 볼 수 있다. 이상의 "거울"과 윤동주의 "참회록"이란 시는 비슷한 주제가 들어있는데 두 시인이 다른 방식으로 그 주제를 다뤘다. 

this is the beginning of me studying Japanese properly. (again?) I studied in high school and a little in college, but here's how it went: I took 101 and 102 at Portland State when I was in high school, but never took 103, which was a summer course. when I went to actual university I transferred credits, so I wasn't allowed to re-take 101, but when I went into 203 it was a little too high for me level-wise, so I zoned out a lot and didn't pay attention. ultimately I dropped out of Japanese after 204 because I was struggling to keep up and wasn't really enjoying class as a result.
